Dr. Renee Deibert
Dr. Renee Deibert was raised in South Georgia, but she has called Blairsville home for over 16 years. She has one son and a canine daughter. A civically active member of the community, she is the Director of the Blairsville campus for North Georgia Technical college, Chairman for the Blairsville-Union County Chamber Board of Directors, Executive Director for the Taste of the Mountains in Blairsville, and a board member with the Towns/Union Habitat for Humanity.
With no formal dance training, Renee finds partner social dancing fascinating. She recently joined the Shag Atlanta Club in order to fully understand the dance culture. She states, “I’ve always wanted to learn how to dance accurately with a partner. Participating in Dancing with the north Georgia Stars has provided me the ‘excuse’ I needed to push my boundaries in this area. Additionally, it is such an honor to raise money for the Enotah CASA organization through this event. Every child deserves an advocate.”
In her spare time, Renee sings tenor in a barbershop quartet; she gardens; and she enjoys spending time with the “S.S.S.” She believes that volunteerism and community support are two key ingredients making north Georgia so special to locals and so appealing to those who dream of living the North Georgia mountain life. For this Enotah CASA fundraising evening she pleads, “Dig deep – give big!”
