Lynn Hayeswas born in Atlanta, grew up in New Orleans and has always loved the music& dancing so prevalent in the Cajun city. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Emory University and taught for five years. After raising two children, Lynn returned to the school setting as the Registrar at Marietta Middle School until her retirement in 2014.
Dancing has been a big part of Lynn’s life. She participated in the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and later took ballroom dance lessons for a few years. Lynn has danced for Dancing with North Georgia Stars, Towns/Union for all four seasons. Last year, Lynn and her partner placed in the Judges’ award competition. We appreciate her continued support.
Harvey moved to Young Harris in 2006 after spending 35 years in Metro Atlanta. He retired from his accounting practice in Atlanta and has since met many new friends in the North Georgia mountains. Upon arriving here, he has served as president of the Lake Chatuge Rotary Club in Hiawassee and then the Union County Rotary Club in Blairsville. Additionally, he joined the Boards of the Peacock Performing Arts Center in Hayesville and the Humane Society’s Mountain Shelter.
Will Harvey’s willingness to help the community, Harvey is a member of the Towns County Sheriff’s Citizens’ Law Enforcement Academy and volunteers to assist the Sheriff’s Deputies at the North Georgia Fairground’s Music Hall performances. Finally, he has been an officer and on the Board of the Towns County Republican Party for over 8 years and a member of the Movers and Shakers Friday morning breakfast group in Hiawassee.
Harvey’s attraction to dancing has developed since moving to the North Georgia mountains. He enjoys dancing with friends at various locations in Towns County on Wednesday evenings and weekends. For him, dancing is fun and great relaxation.
