Couple #2: Angie Hayes and Aly Sanchez
Angie Hayes, originally from Waycross, GA, has been a Union County resident for 21 years. She has had a love for dancing her entire life and took dance lessons from 1st grade through her senior year of high school. Angie has performed in many recitals, dance competitions, etc. in the genres of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. During her college years, she decided to pursue a career outside of dancing and hasn’t danced since.
Angie currently is a mom to her amazing little girl, Audrey, and the owner of Made with Love Marketplace, a monogram boutique in The Seasons Inn Plaza right in downtown Blairsville. Darren Harper of the Downtown Development Authority introduced her to the idea of volunteering to be a dancer in this year’s North Georgia Dancing with the Stars and she instantly knew she had to.
Angie is honored to volunteer with Enotah CASA and to be able to help such an amazing organization. She enjoys giving back to her community and what a way to be able to do just that through her love of dance.
Aly Sanchez is a resident of Hayesville, NC. She spent 9 years dancing at Murphy School of Dance taking classes in ballet, lyrical, and jazz. After high school she began assisting in classes at Blairsville Dance Project and eventually became a teacher there, which she has enjoyed the past 3 years. She now teaches classes in contemporary, jazz, and acrodance. She also plays a role in the special needs dance program. In the near future, Aly plans to have a studio of her own in North Carolina. She recently graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in dance. She is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Special Education for students with severe to profound disabilities. Aly also danced in the 2016 Dancing with the North Georgia Stars event, where she and her partner took home a second runner-up Judges’ Trophy.
