Couple #10: Vickie Levy and Roberto Romero
Vickie Levy was born in Birmingham AL, grew up in Atlanta and has been a resident of Blairsville for over 10 years. She has been with her husband, Magic Bob Levy, for 49 years, whom you may remember, tap danced with the North GA Stars, two years ago.
She has one daughter, Robin and one Grandson, Matthew, who is currently serving in the US Air Force overseas.
Vickie has been an Independent Representative with LegalShield for 20 years. She Co-founded the Mountain Marty Party in 2014 and ever since then has partnered with local restaurants and businesses to provide Free, monthly networking events for our North GA and NC mountain business community! Vickie is a volunteer for the Humane Society’s Mountain Shelter and a volunteer and graduate of CLEA (Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy of Towns County). She and Magic Bob have organized many fundraisers over the years for our local, non-profit organizations.
Although Vickie has never had formal training, she has loved dancing, all her life and whenever there is a good dance band around, she is usually there. She has also been an avid gardener for over 40 years and has a very special relationship with both indoor and outdoor plants.
Roberto’s love of dance comes naturally from his Latin roots. He has no formal dance training he was just born dancing. He is married to Christine and has a son Angel Daniel who is currently attending University of North Georgia, studying Criminal Law.
Roberto originally came to the mountains to ride the infamous “Tail of the Dragon”. He was immediately drawn to the area as it reminded him of the mountains in Mexico. After a two-year search ranging from Maggie Valley to Hiawassee, Roberto and his wife decided to build in Hayesville, NC overlooking Lake Chatuge. To celebrate they went to a local Hiawassee restaurant only to find a FOR LEASE sign on the door. Two months later Roberto and his brother Hugo opened The Sundance Grill and Bar.
Roberto is a proud US citizen and is committed to serving the community. He has performed on stage as a bongo drummer for various charity events. He also owns a restaurant in Punta Gorda, Florida, where to date has raised over $35,000 for charity.
